I’m Christine, the artist behind Exit Sunset.

I grew up on a cotton farm in Midland, Texas, where long summer days were split between hard work, drawing, and basketball. Creativity was always part of my life, and after studying graphic design, that path eventually led me to photography as a way to slow down and truly see the world around me.

After moving to Oregon, I found myself drawn to the coast—its quiet moments, shifting light, and ever-changing seasons. In 2019, we settled in Cannon Beach, where I began transforming my coastal photography into laser-engraved designs on wood. What started as a creative experiment quickly became a way to preserve the feeling of this place in a tangible form.

In 2020, my husband and I launched Exit Sunset, sharing my work through local Cannon Beach shops. In March 2024, that journey came full circle with the opening of our own retail space in downtown Cannon Beach.

Every piece I create is designed and made here, inspired by the coast and crafted to be both meaningful and functional—a lasting reminder of time spent by the ocean.

Coastal Art Inspired by Cannon Beach

I draw inspiration from Cannon Beach’s coastal and mountain landscapes, creating designs meant to spark memories of adventure and invite exploration. Each piece begins with photography—often captured while hiking the coast—and is thoughtfully transformed into artwork that reflects the spirit of this place.

In addition to my own imagery, I also offer custom designs created from your photos, allowing you to turn personal moments into meaningful pieces. A curated gallery of coastal photographs is available as prints or canvas art, making it easy to bring a touch of Cannon Beach into your home.

Through each design, my goal is simple: to celebrate the beauty of Cannon Beach and preserve its essence in a lasting, tangible way.

“Drawing from my background in graphic design, I focus on capturing the beauty of the world around me and translating it into thoughtful, nature-inspired designs. By incorporating materials like wood and cork, each piece reflects a balance between clean design and natural texture—celebrating the character and uniqueness of organic elements.”
